Well, apparently not. However, the YouTube dude, Robert Johnson, did claim that this fingerpicking pattern was "the granddaddy of them all" and if I mastered it "I could play hundreds of songs." OK, not exactly life changing, but hundreds of songs sounds good to me.
Question to self: Isn't it true that I could play hundreds of songs with almost any finger picking pattern??
At any rate, Mr. YouTube dude shared a nice pattern that I hadn't learned before. It was fairly simple to learn. Here ya go...
He demonstrated the pattern only with a C chord, but I imagine that you would use the thumb to strike the bass note of whatever chord you are playing. I spent quite a bit of time experimenting with this and other patterns.
Have I mentioned before that I enjoy finger picking?
Since today is Sunday, I was able to spend a fair amount of time noodling around on the guitar. In addition to the finger picking, I also worked on my strum practice with new pick hold. OMG.
At this moment I don't feel like being negative, so I'll leave it with OMG. You can use your imagination as to what that means.
So now that my musical life has been changed with this finger picking pattern, tomorrow begins the search for a magical life change in other areas!!
